This is unimaginably tragic.
The team did release a statement on the matter, though (below):
Meet Dex Lauper, y'all!
He's a rapper, producer, and songwriter, and he just happens to be Cyndi Lauper's son!
Judging by his Instagram feed, he's also very fond of smoking weed.
The 18-year-old, whose full name is Declyn Wallace Thornton, has been working on his album ALGO (As Life Goes On), and can't wait to release it into the world.
Here's a sample he posted online:

Celebs like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jimmy Buffett, and Bryan Adams have already publicly condemned the state's government for allowing such a bigoted law to pass, and now two more icons have joined them!
The former Beatle was first to cancel his upcoming show, saying:
Is that you, Michael Stipe?
That's def the same head we remember, but with that nosering and Duck Dynasty beard we almost didn't recognize him! Until he started singing of course…

On March 31 and April 1, you can see Michael, Cyndi Lauper, The Roots, the Mountain Goats, Jakob Dylan, Ann Wilson, and more honor the musical legend at Carnegie Hall.
Or if it's too far, you'll also get a chance live stream the concert event for a small donation. Get your tickets — all proceeds of which go to charity — HERE!

Cyndi Lauper may be an '80s icon, but she's ready to reach a whole new fanbase with her latest single Funnel of Love.
She's leaving her beats behind in an effort to go full-on country for her new music!
Funnel of Love features the classic sound you associate with the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun singer, but has a decidedly down-home vibe that we're surprisingly into.
Plus, if you like what you hear, Cyndi's 12th studio album Detour drops worldwide Friday, May 6!

We can't believe he's gone.
While Madonna did tweet when she learned the news, and was obviously very affected by David's passing, the Material Girl apparently felt she needed to get more off her chest as she posted a tribute on Facebook:
We. Are. Floored.
But somehow the Froot singer (also known as Marina Diamandis) managed to make True Colours her own — and maybe even equal to the original??
Ch-ch-check it out (above) and let us know what you think.
If you can type through those tears…
