Will this feud -- and the associated lawsuits -- ever end??
John Mellencamp News Archive
John Mellencamp and Stephen King have conjured up a musical, and it'll debut next spring!
It's called Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, and it's a southern gothic musical. Here's what it's about:
King's story is based on the real 1957 deaths of two brothers and a young girl. Mellencamp is in charge of the "roots and blues-tinged score."
It is scheduled to run from April 4 to May 13, 2012
Sounds like a hit to us!
Can't wait to see it, guys!

Last night started out just like any other night for John Cougar Mellencamp: he got dressed, went to Toronto’s Massey Hall, played a kick-ass show and then peaced out with a lovely lady on his arm.
Except this lady is the one who has been seen hanging around him a lot lady. Turns out, Meg Ryan was in the house last night to hear John perform and when the show was over, the pair scrambled to leave the venue through the throngs of paparazzi.
And then, they saw it - some bling on Meg Ryan's left ring finger! It was unmissable, though very sublte. No diamonds or anything flashy. Just a simple band. Still, it begs the question…
Are you guys engaged??? Tell us, tell us!
We kind of think you guys are cute together; very Jack and Diane, if you get what we're saying! We're hoping the answer is yes!

Back in October the pair were seen walking arm-in-arm in New York City!
Could Meg have been the deciding factor for John's split with his wife?
Word also has it that Meg is part of John's new collaboration with producer T Bone Burnett on a musical Ghost Brothers of Darkling County and she was voicing one of the characters.
Maybe this is just an innocent friendship and maybe that friendship has a few benefits, but we guess only time will tell.
Sad! They had a good run though.
According to John's rep, the couple says they "are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family."
It's interesting to note that no divorce papers have been filed, so perhaps this may just be a trial separation.
Let's hope so for their two kids sake!

good bad! This is a little diddy we never thought we'd hear.
In a recent interview, he told sources that he thinks she "knows exactly what's she doing" and "she wouldn't be where she is today if she didn't." He insists that people jump to conclusions to quickly about her smarts, simply "because she says things and winks."
The winking is a bit of an IQ dropper.
Though he doesn't agree with her political stance, he also admits he gives her credit for all she has been able to accomplish over the last 2 years, explaining "she's pushing the right buttons" and "you can't be stupid and do that."
Oh, we beg to differ on that, but if you say so.
