Former Israeli President & Nobel Peace Prize Winner Shimon Peres Dies At 93 — President Barack Obama & More React
Sad news for the people of Israel.
Shimon Peres, one of the country's last remaining founders, passed away on Wednesday in a Tel Aviv area hospital. The former president of Israel was 93-years-old.
It's said the longtime statesman died only two weeks after having suffered from a stroke. According to the New York Times, Peres' doctors kept him unconscious and on a breathing tube following his stroke in the hopes that he could recover from the brain damage. Unfortunately, Shimon did not get better as his son Nehemya Peres and personal physician/son-in-law Dr. Rafi Walden confirmed his death outside the Sheba Medical Center.
In addition to serving as president between 2007 and 2014, Peres served as his country's prime minister TWICE and had also been the minister of defense, foreign affairs, finance, and transportation. Not to mention, in 1994 Shimon was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize alongside Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin. Now that's a legacy to leave behind.
So it's no wonder President Barack Obama and several of our other former presidents have since commented on Peres' death. In a recent statement, President Obama noted:
Jimmy Fallon Pokes Fun At Hillary Clinton's Health Scare On The Tonight Show — Is He Tougher On Her Than On Trump?? You Decide!
In fact, the host managed to make light of the Democratic presidential nominee's recent pneumonia scare when he greeted her on Monday's show!
After she sat down, Fallon wore a surgical mask and used hand sanitizer after shaking the candidate's hand — to which Hillary quipped:
"I'm not contagious… nothing like a little rest when your doctor tells you to and you don't do it."
When Fallon inquired if her husband Bill Clinton was a good nurse, Hillary admitted the former President was "very solicitous" and "very sweet," before adding "my dogs were great, too."
After HRC talked about fighting against Donald Trump/bigotry, Fallon read a few Kid Letters who wrote to advise the candidate's campaign — including one anonymous suggestion for Hillary to go back to her 1994 hairstyle! LOLz!
