It's Russell Vs. Russell At The Box Office!

hop-arhur-top-box-office-2.jpg

So, who came out on top??

Russell Brand of course!

The actor/comedian is king at the box office, taking in the top two films this weekend.

Who woulda thunk it??

His animated movie Hop continued its winning streak, being the number one film for the second week in a row, bringing in $21.7 million.

His live action film, the Arthur remake, was in second place and pulled in $12.6 million despite the fact that the film had been absolutely shredded by the critics.

Cate Blanchett's Hanna, starring Saoirse Ronan, came in third place with $12.3 million. The film has been receiving positive reviews and has managed to gain a huge audience through word of mouth.

Rounding out the top five were Soul Surfer, co-starring Carrie Underwood, with $11.1 million, and the horror movie Insidious, earning $9.7 million.

So, readers, what did U see this weekend??

Orlando Bloom Getting $1 Million To Appear In The Hobbit For 2 Minutes????!!!

orlando-bloom-making-millio.jpg

Orlando Bloom will earn $1 million dollars to appear as Legolas in The Hobbit - for less than two minutes!

He is not confirmed, but it is expected any day now. Sir Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett and Elijah Wood will all appear in The Hobbit, but Orlando is making more money on a per minute average than all of them.

Wowsa! Good for him.

Is Elijah Wood Heading Back To The Shire?!

elijah-wood-to-reprise-his-lord-of-the-rings-role-in-the-hobbit

We like this idea! What a great way to link the films together!

Now that production is FINALLY underway on Peter Jackson's prequel to his Lord of the Rings series, The Hobbit, it sounds like yet another cast member from the original trilogy will be reprising his role!

Elijah Wood is reported to be portraying his role as Frodo Baggins in the opening sequence of the new film, reading a book that would re-introduce viewers to the story and the world all over again!

Lovely! Between he, Orlando Bloom and Cate Blanchett returning, we think that the The Hobbit will fit nicely as a companion to the other films!

What do U think?? Are U happy to see the return of Frodo??

Cate Blanchett Returns To The Shire!

cate-blanchett-back-for-the-hobbit.jpg

Middle Earth has been blessed today with a wonderful surprise.

Peter Jackson has revealed that Cate Blanchett will be returning as the Lady of Lothlorien in The Hobbit. Of her return, Peter said:

"Cate if one of my favorite actors to work with and I couldn't be more thrilled to have her reprise the role she so beautifully brought to life in the earlier films."

She sure did! It'll be nice to see her as Galadriel again!

As for some of other casting news Ken Stott has been chosen to play Dwarf Lord Balin, Sylvester McCoy will play the wizard Radagast the Brown and Jed Brophy, who also appeared in the original The Lord of the Rings will play the dwarf Nori.

Excellent! Sounds like things are coming together nicely now!
