It looks like this year's Golden Globes will make history. Well, they'll make history rich with awards anyway!
Period pieces lead the way this year as the swingin' 70s set American Hustle and antebellum 12 Years A Slave lead the film nominations with seven each.
This includes another nod for Jennifer Lawrence, who won last year for Silver Linings Playbook. Go gurl!

Just another exquisite look courtesy of Cate Blanchett!
The actress admirably lived up to her fashion icon status at the Opening Night Gala of the 10th annual Dubai Film Festival on Friday in an aubergine Valentino gown with queenly cape accent.
She just makes it too easy for us to always compare her to royalty!
The piece de resistance, however, was the GAWRGEOUS Hervé Van der Staeten tiered gold necklace that was the mother of all statement necklaces and absolutely enhanced the dress instead of overpowering it.
Gold Louboutin sandals and a sleek updo completed the stunning look.

Cate Blanchett never ceases to amaze us!
The Blue Jasmine actress was given a gala tribute at the New York Film Festival on Wednesday night, and she proceeded to blow everyone else out of the water!
Cate looked exquisite in a delicate blush-colored Armani Prive lace dress with a v-neckline, spaghetti straps, and off-the-shoulder lace sleeves.
Even with the hue of the dress matching her skin tone almost exactly, she did not look the least bit washed-out. Berry lips and a rosy blush provided the pops of color in this case.
Cate, you're just too flawless!

Could she be any more perfect!?
Cate Blanchett streak of flawlessness continued on Thursday night at the Beauty In Wonderland exhibit in Milan.
The Australian goddess swapped her maroon dress for a fabulous Prabal Gurung number with red and white ostrich feathers decorating the skirt.
Don't you just want her to do a twirl?
Not wanting to take away from the stunning dress, Cate kept her accessories to a minimum, opting for black peep toe heels and diamond studs.
Well done, Miz Blanchett!

Cate Blanchett is simply the best.
She has given us so much fashion flare this week, we feel like we need to personally reach out and thank her!
The actress killed it on the red carpet, all the way in Australia, AND at the airport in London.
On Thursday in Milan, the Blue Jasmine star took part in fashion week festivities and posed for a portrait sesh in a maroon Gucci fit-and-flare dress and copper Louboutin heels.
The classiness just wafts straight off of her.

Is this a runway show or an airport terminal?
Cate Blanchett looked like a Calvin Klein or Saint Laurent model while stalking through Heathrow Airport to catch a flight out of London on Wednesday.
How is it fair that she looks so glam in her tapered drop-crotch (!!!) slacks and lapel-less blazer when most people just try to get out of the airport alive in their hole-ridden sweats?
Like, come on, it's the venerable Miz Blanchett in DROP-CROTCH PANTS! And she looks AMAZE!
Plus, she's carrying the ultra-chic Alexander McQueen 'Heroine' crossbody! We just can't anymore!
And we just know she's on her way to yet another premiere where she will once again blow us away with some exquisite piece of couture.
None of us are worthy.

Sometimes we wonder if designers make specific pieces with Cate Blanchett in mind. Because she's really the only one who can do them justice!
The actress pulled out yet another daring and show-stopping look at the Blue Jasmine premiere in London on Tuesday, looking grandiose in a Givenchy Couture creation fit for a queen.
The unconventional number featured a knotted neckline, dropped shoulders, and a layer over the bust that turned into a floor-brushing cape/train! CRAY!
In addition to the stunning construction, there was beautifully elaborate embroidery along the waist and the inside of the train! It must've taken hours to do all that hand beading!
This was a gown that could easily overwhelm the wearer, but Cate rarely has that problem. She owned it!
