Everyone who watched Teen Mom as entertainment should probably feel a little bit worse about it today, because Amber Portwood said that every time you see her on screen… she was high.
Which means we were all witnessing a young mother struggle on screen while putting her child in extreme danger. Her addiction came before her little one's safety.
Luckily — and we hope this is a trend that sticks — Amber seems to have been changed by prison. After being released in early November, we've seen in interviews a different side of her. She spent more than a year behind bars.
In a new clip on an upcoming episode of Dr. Phil, Amber talks about her addiction. You won't believe what she says! Check out the clip AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Placing blame after a suicide is a common coping mechanism for those who have lost a loved one, and unfortunately it's usually a personal kind of blame.
For Gia Allemand's mom Donna, though, she's putting the blame for her daughter's suicide on two wildly specific sources: Gia's dad, and her MENSTRUATION.
What in the what??
First, let's talk about the dad Eugene Allemand. Here's what Donna had to say to Dr. Phil:
We can't imagine anything more tragic.
When former Bachelor star Gia Allemand took her life, her mother experienced one of the worst moments ever as she was on the other end of the phone when it happened.
As her daughter hanged herself, Donna Micheletti was on the line and now she's opening up about going through this incredible pain.
She spoke with Dr. Phil and reasoned:
Um…were YOU drunk when you sent out that tweet, Dr. Phil???
Yesterday, the TV talk show "doc" asked his followers a question that had the Twittersphere retweeting like cah-razy!
Alrighty. Here's our reply: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of medical professional asks that?
What kind of person in general asks that???
Thousands of people took to Twitter to sound off on his insensitive message.
His tweet has since been deleted and he's now commenting about the controversy. A rep for Dr. Phil said:
According to the America’s Next Top Model contestant's mom, Renee was recently cut off financially because the money was fueling her out of control drug habit.
Her sister adds the night she was arrested, the Cycle 8 finalist was homeless and in "survival mode", but hopes to get Renee back on track with the help of well-known professionals. She explains:
This is so tragic!!!
Renowned psychologist and counselor Dr. Joyce Brothers died!!
Her cause of death hasn't yet been made public, but the popular psychologist's daughter confirmed she passed away today in her New Jersey home!
From TV to books to advice columns, Dr. Joyce was a pioneer in her field and she will be sorely missed!!
Dr. Phil even cites her as one of his professional inspirations. He said:
"I was a very big fan of hers. I started studying psychology back in 1968 or 1969 and she was a very present force at that time."
Aww!! Our hearts are breaking for her grieving friends and family right now!!
Dr. Joyce Brothers was 85 years old.
