Some Mindy McCready news that's NOT about jail time!

A report claims that the cracked out country crooner is apparently going back to rehab after trying to "do herself in" with vodka and Ambien late last week.

McCready supposedly became suicidal after getting dumped by her boyfriend and collapsed while on the phone with her mother.

Dr. Phil reportedly suggested to the troubled singer that she head to Arizona for treatment.

Mindy is the doc's new "personal project."

Both parties have declined to comment.

Hey, rehab is better than jail, right?

Actually, we'd prefer prison over Dr. Phil!

He must not have anything better to talk about.

Dr. Phil has been receiving a lot of flack for his visit to Unfitney Spears at the hospital, and he's not sorry, bitches.

The only thing he's sorry about? Talking about the visit after the fact.

"Was it helpful to the situation? Regrettably, no. It was not, and I have to acknowledge that and I do," he told his audience at a taping of his show on Thursday, which will air on Monday. "I definitely think if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't make any statement at all. Period."

McGraw tells USA Today he visited the trainwreck as "a friend and ally of the family," not as a psychologist. He stopped practicing years ago and is not licensed in California.

Asked if he would make the same visit again, at the request of concerned parents, Dr. Phil says, "How do you not?"

We kinda agree with him on this one.

The TV doc had planned to air a special about Britney Spears, but has now decided to shelve it.

Phil just issued the following statement to Entertainment Tonight:

"As was widely reported this weekend, at the request of concerned family members, I visited Britney Spears in the hospital. The details of that visit will, of course, remain private. We had planned to tape a 'Dr. Phil Now' show tomorrow, focusing not on the tabloid side of Britney’s latest problems, but instead on the very serious issues surrounding this case. Clearly, it is not just Britney's family struggling to find a way to protect adult children who cannot be ordered or compelled to seek help. Because the Spears situation is too intense at this time, and out of consideration to the family, I have made the decision not to move forward with the taping at this particular time. Britney and her family are in our prayers and we ask that they be in yours."

It probably didn't help the Doc that Britney's parents pulled out of being on the show!

Britney's parents have finally come to their senses!

Jamie and Lynne Spears were reported to be taping a Dr. Phil special today about their daughter Britney.

But now, the family has cancelled their appearance on the show, Life & Style is reporting.

Now if only they could track down Britney and save her!

The TV doc who paid a visit to Britney Spears on Saturday morning, just before she was released from the hospital, has just given this exclusive statement to Entertainment Tonight:

"My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention. She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her."

Details are still a bit fuzzy, but, from what we're hearing….

Dr. Phil was involved in a crash on Thursday.

The talk show host was apparently giving an interview on his cell to a radio station in Dallas when his car got in the accident.

Update: Thankfully Dr. Phil's mishap was minor.

No serious injuries and no one was hurt.
