So sad.

This is truly tragic.

Over the weekend, a three-year-old girl died after choking on the toy that came inside the Kinder Surprise chocolate egg she was eating.

A prosecutor confirmed the French toddler's death on Wednesday.

The child's mother — who was with her daughter at the time — said that when the little one was eating the sweet, she accidentally swallowed a plastic wheel that broke off the toy which was in the egg.

The lawyer said:

"The child's grandfather arrived quickly and managed to extract the object."

30 billion eggs — made by Italian company Ferrero — have been sold across the globe, containing one of 8,000 different kinds of surprises inside.

Those sales have never taken place in the US, since the country has very strict laws about toys being hidden in candy, but the company's website stresses that safety is a top priority, writing:

***WARNING: Graphic Imagery***

We can't even being to imagine what this must have been like for them.

As you're surely aware, Paris went through a series of terrorist attacks almost two weeks ago that left 130 people throughout the city dead.

89 of those victims were attending a concert at the Bataclan on Nov. 13 to see the band Eagles of Death Metal perform, and while the members have spoken out about the massacre and the loss of their merchandise manager Nick Alexander, their first full sit-down interview was released on Wednesday.

VICE spoke with co-founder/vocalist Jesse Hughes, bassist Matt McJunkins, guitarist Eden Galindo, drummer Julian Dorio, and sound engineer Shawn London about their terrifying experience, as well as co-founder Joshua Homme who was not at the venue the night of the shootings.

It's an incredibly moving 26-minute piece, and while many would probably see the killings as reason to never play again, EODM stated that they're actually doing the opposite — using the ordeal to provoke positive change in the world.
