German Soccer Match Canceled, Stadium Evacuated After 'Serious' Indication Of Explosive Materials

Another possible terrorist attack may have just been thwarted.

HDI-Arena in Hannover, Germany was evacuated Tuesday afternoon just 90 minutes before a friendly match between the German national team and Netherlands was set to take place.

Hanover police chief Volker Kluwe told local media outlets that the game was cancelled after multiple "serious" threats were received warning of a potential attack similar to what happened in Paris, France.

While no explosive materials have been confirmed, several reports have indicated that a truck filled with bombs disguised as an ambulance was located outside of the stadium.

What makes this thwarted attack even more eerily similar to the fatal killings in Paris on Friday is that German Chancellor Angela Merkel was scheduled to attend the game, just as President François Hollande was watching his match.

There have also been reports that a concert venue similar to the Bataclan has been evacuated.

We'll continue to update you as the story develops.

Stay safe, everyone.

As you can imagine, the 72-year-old was filled with relief as he hugged and kissed his little girl. Once the journalist went back to work, he shared the experience of seeing his daughter again, saying:

"It was an amazing relief just to squeeze her and to know that she was safe. Of course we had exchanged text messages after a frustrating failure to communicate during the awful incident on Friday night. All I can say is that the Rivera family is tremendously relieved, but we mourn so much for the other families that have suffered so much here … This was a really severe, horrible blow to the soul of the French people."

The band is a Universal artist, and the 34-year-old served as an international producer manager for Mercury Records. UMG CEO Lucian Grainge issued a statement about Thomas' untimely passing, writing:

"At this point, we have confirmed that Thomas Ayad, an international product manager for Mercury Records lost his life in the attack on the theater. This is an unspeakably appalling tragedy. This is just sad and so wrong.

Ibrahim Abdeslam detonated a suicide bomb outside Comptoir Voltaire — near the Bataclan concert hall — on Friday night as part of the deadly terror attacks that rocked Paris. Today, his mother is claiming it all happened because of "stress."

And now, Ibrahim's brother Salah is a fugitive from justice after he escaped to Belgium before police could capture him after the attacks.

The Abdeslam family — rocked to their core that their sons were involved in something so heinous — spoke to reporters about the events, saying that Ibrahim carried out the attacks because he was "stressed," and that they were "shocked" and "thinking of the victims."

Ibrahim's other brother, Mohamed — who was arrested after the attacks but later released without charge — said of the tragedy:

The President of France has officially said that the country "is at war" following Friday's deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.

During an historic meeting with both houses of parliament on Monday morning, President François Hollande issued a statement saying that France would respond to ISIS killing 129 people by "not just containing, but destroying" the terrorist cell.

It's unclear if this was a legitimate declaration of war or more of a manner of speaking, but he clearly got his point across.

The news comes just a day after Prime Minister Manuel Valls also said that the country was "at war with terrorism" following the French Police decision to raid 168 homes over the weekend.

President François Hollande stated that he will be meeting with President Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin later this week.
