The upcoming The Fate of the Furious will mark the first Fast & Furious film to not feature Walker since 2006's Tokyo Drift.
The 49-year-old shared a throwback photo of the dynamic duo at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards, where they won the award for best on-screen team for their work in the original Fast and the Furious movie.
In the caption, Diesel spoke on the "challenging task" of shooting the successful franchise's latest installment without Walker, writing:
The MTV Movie Awards is always full of fun-filled festivities, and this year was no exception.
So when the stars like Farrah Abraham and Michael J. Willett strutted their stuff on the red carpet Saturday night, we were there to catch up with them!
And, in honor of the film-centric ceremony, we talked to Best Kiss winner Adam Devine, Faking It star Michael J. Willett, and many more about their first-ever movie dates!

One of the most frequently circulated photos on the internet is a picture of a young Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson rocking a really fashionable fanny pack.
Most people have seen this hilarious throwback photo in some form on social media, which answers why the fanny pack stopped being a socially acceptable fashion accessory.
But it looks like the dated utility pouch might be making a comeback, because Seth Rogen recreated The Rock's infamous photo with his own hilarious fanny pack snap!
On Saturday, the Neighbors 2 star shared a pic of himself on Twitter wearing the exact same ensemble (fanny pack and all) — and he was looking particularly roided out:
Someone call Lisa Vanderpump's wedding planner!
While all the drama from this season of Vanderpump Rules may be dying down, the show's stars Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney still have quite a bit of planning to do when it comes to their upcoming nuptials. Talk about drama!
While attending the GBK's pre-MTV Movie Awards lounge, Miz Maloney dished:
Khloé Kardashian has had a LOT to deal with these days.
Between her brother Rob Kardashian rushing to get engaged to his girlfriend Blac Chyna and her estranged husband Lamar Odom's highly publicized night out drinking mere months after surviving an overdose, we can't imagine the stress the KUWTK starlet is currently under.
Luckily for us, we were able to EXCLUSIVELY chat with Dr. Drew at the MTV Movie Awards about the former NBA player's road to recovery — not to mention, the reality TV doctor was also able to give us some perspective on the complicated situation.
Be sure to ch-ch-check out the doc's insightful words for Miz Kardashian for yourself (above)!
This film is no monkey business!
We're still waiting for the official trailer for Kong: Skull Island to drop — but luckily, the first sneak peek of the epic was released, and it's definitely enough to curb our appetites.
During Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards, Legendary debuted the first look at the King Kong reboot, featuring footage from the Vietnam set and interviews from the cast about shooting the upcoming adventure film!
In the clip, Tom Hiddleston packs some serious heat as he talks about playing Captain James Conrad, a former British SAS officer. We also get a better look at Brie Larson's character Weaver, a photojournalist and environmentalist who is trying to preserve Skull Island.
Though we don't get a look at the big bad gorilla himself, we do get a bigger taste of the beautiful locations and a more finished version of Kong's boneyard!
Skull Island also stars Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Toby Kebbell, and Shea Whigham.
Ch-ch-check out the first look (below) and go see the film in theaters on March 10, 2017!
