We're still tearing up over this lovely (and history-making) TV moment!
Not only was this ceremony ground-breaking and seen by millions—but it's huge step forward for the gay community!
And that's why GLAAD President Sarah Kate Ellis thanked the rap duo and Madge for celebrating "the love and commitment of gay couples."
"When such a critically acclaimed and popular rap artist puts marriage equality center stage at one of the biggest events of the year, it is the latest in a long line of signs that our nation not only accepts, but celebrates the love and commitment of gay couples today. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis aren't only talented musicians, but are setting the bar high for our allies around the country today."
The weddings were officiated by Queen Latifah while Same Love was performed by the rapping duo—along with Mary Lambert and jazz musician Trombone Shorty.
When the couples sealed the deal to their nuptials, Madonna came out belting Open Your Heart to finish up the epic moment!
Backstage, Macklemore revealed why incorporating the ceremonies into his performance was so important:
"It's a message of quality, tolerance, compassion, to end homophobia, bigotry and hatred which has been an institution here in America. Loving who you want to love. I don't think a song like 'Same Love' would be embraced years ago. It's a testament to where we're headed in this country."
What a truly amazing evening for love!
There is certainly One Love in the air, as the performance of the night FINALLY happened at the Grammys!
Queen Latifah did her thing and married 34 happy and loving couples during the show tonight. And they certainly had quite the AH-Mazing ceremony as Macklemore, Mary Lambert, and the QUEEN Madonna sang the wedding songs for the night!
Not only did the show prove there is One Love, but Madge made us all Open Your Heart to this beautiful display of love.
Tears, so many tears!!!! Every award show needs a moment like this from now on!
Ch-ch-check it out (above)!!!
What a fantastic idea!!!
The rapper and his producer Ryan Lewis will be performing the song Same Love, and 34 couples will get married during that time, including Lewis’ sister Laura!
It will include people of all races, ages, and sexualities, and guess who will be officiating the ceremonies?
Macklemore, Lewis, and Ken Ehrlich, the Grammys producer, came up with the idea a loonnnggggg time ago, and decided to have the couples wed on the sides of the stage, to be near the audience. Ehrlich said
Well, it sounds like even her wildest dreams have come true!
Lupita, you are a phenomenal actress! Don't be so surprised that you're getting recognized for your AH-Mazing work!
The actress stopped by the set of The Queen Latifah Show to talk about everything that was happening before and after they announced the Academy Award nominations!
Congrats, gurl!! We can't wait to see you on the red carpet!
Take a look at her remembering that day (above)!
We think Salt-N-Pepa probably put it best when they said: why do you gotta get into who she’s givin’ skins to?
It’s none of ya business!
Still, Queen Latifah’s private life and who she’s giving skins to IS an often times talked about topic, with many suggesting that the multi-talented entertainer is gay but very much in the closet.
On Monday morning, the Queen sat down with Howard Stern. And when you sit down with Howard, there is no subject that’s off the table!
The shock jock extraordinaire eased his way into discussing what happens behind closed doors by asking why she chooses to not talk about her personal life.
Queen Latifah explained to Howard:
Oh noes! What happened here?!?
The 2 Broke Girls actress documented the accident on Twitter and wrote:
Luckily, the PCAs had the finest medical staff on board to tend to her wounds, and Queen Latifah made everything all better with a super special smooch!
Looks like she should consider changing her name to Dr. Latifah instead! LOLz!
Get better soon, Kat!

All hail da Queen!
She was BEYOND excited to take home this trophy and thanked her crew for all of their hard work! But she also confessed that she wanted to swear so bad but couldn't because the show was live!
Big congratz to Queen Latifah! May your daytime reign continue for many more years to come!
