After disappointing this child by exposing his true non-Iron Man Identity, Robert Downey Jr. thinks to himself ______________.

Joss Whedon did an amazing job with The Avengers, helping it become the third highest grossing film of all time.

But the director says the sequel just isn't worth making without Robert Downey Jr.! He says:

"He is Iron Man. He is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond. I have no intention of making Avengers 2 without him, nor do I think I'll be called upon to do that."

But RDJ hasn't signed on yet! And considering how much he got paid for Iron Man 3, there's a fair chance Marvel won't be able to afford him much longer!

So will Joss cave and make the sequel without him should it come to that? The director says:
