Usher has been through a lot in the last year. The tragic loss of stepson Kile Glover was followed by one of the dirtiest custody battles we've ever seen.

Last night the singer opened up to the one person everyone can trust- Oprah.

So how candid did the interview really get?

It ain't over until the fat lady sings.

Or at least until the judge does.

Usher's ex wife Tameka Foster has officially appealed the recent custody ruling involving the former couple's two children.

According to the papers she filed, her lawyers argue that she absolutely presented enough evidence to prove that Usher has a past, current, and future inability" to raise their children, and no sufficient evidence was presented in the last case as to why she would be unable to take care of them.

There's that and there's also the fact that Tameka has a sneaking suspicion that the judge was a little too friendly with her ex husband.

We hope this drama isn't dragged out too long - these two have been through enough these past few months, and this surely isn't a healthy way to help them through the healing process.

We'll see what happens.

As far as Tameka Foster is concerned, Usher may have won the battle in the battle for their two children…

But he has NOT won the war!

That's right, although the singer was awarded primary custody of Usher V and Naviyd after a long and extremely contentious war of words between the parents, sources close to Tameka is already interviewing lawyers to help her with the appeal!

And she may have good reason!

During her brief marriage to Usher, Tameka Foster got a taste of fame, and she liked it!

In fact, a source close to Tameka says she was planning to raise her profile even more with a reality show! The source says:

"About a year ago Tameka was working out the details with the production company and deciding who she was going to go with. It was going to focus on her life, kids, business ventures, etc."

Unfortunately for all, tragedy struck Tameka.

After the jet ski accident that claimed her son Kile's life, Tameka has understandably been devastated.

And it seems she's finding the spotlight isn't the best place to grieve. The source says:

"It is unclear now if she will be following through with the show after the death of Kile - I'm sure that's the last thing on her mind."

We're sure Tameka's show would have been fun and revealing, but we're glad she's put the idea on hold. It wouldn't help her or an audience for the whole world to watch her deal with her loss.

Frankly, that would be a little too real.

It looks like there will be no respite from the custody battle between Usher and ex-wife Tameka Foster.

In the wake of the tragic death of Tameka's son Kile Glover, Usher requested the judge delay the upcoming hearing to give everyone time to deal with their loss.

It's impossible to say whether the judge listened to Tameka's claims that Usher was faking his grief or simply didn't see the need for a break.

Either way, the trial will resume as scheduled.

Tameka's words did seem to affect Usher himself. The singer has decided to respond with a message…

…to Kile.

Usher tweeted Thursday:

"I miss you too. Silent is golden moments like that are worth a million expressions. Not sayin much cuz I'm tryin not be #misunderstood."

We can see this is a complicated situation, but Usher certainly seems sincere.

We hope that even if Tameka and Usher can't reconcile their own differences, they can at least come to an understanding in respect to one another's loss.

With a tragedy like this there is more than enough pain to go around.

Tameka Foster is obviously grieving.

After the death of her son Kile in a tragic accident last month, she is going through some of the worst pain imaginable.

Usher, who was Kile's stepdad for years, must also be suffering. Or is he?

Unfortunately, the tragedy has not calmed Usher and Tameka's ongoing custody battle for their children Usher V and Naviyd.

Usher requested a delay, saying that after such a loss, everyone needed time to grieve, but Tameka is fighting him.

According to court documents, Tameka is saying that Usher is faking sadness, calling his delay request "bogus" and "a transparent sham."

Tameka attests that Usher only visited Kile once in the hospital, skipped the funeral, and even refused to tweet a prayer for the dying boy.

We sincerely hope she is wrong about this and just speaking out of grief. Because if either of them could be heartless enough to exploit a child's death to get what they want, then they don't deserve to be parents.

Maybe we'll find out the truth, but for now we just have to hope the warring exes keep the best interest of their sons in mind.
