But things went a little different than planned after she was offered a role in the upcoming movie Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. It was just somethign she couldn't pass up.

The robot that kicked ass on Jeopardy may soon be giving you medical advice!

Experts at IBM say that Watson’s ability to understand and process plain language and computer-sized database of knowledge make it a potential tool for doctors to more efficiently diagnose patients.

IBM says it’s at least two years away from marketing Watson as a medical device, but that it could be extremely useful to doctors when it becomes available.

Said Dr. Herbert Chase, a Columbia University medical school professor:

"For at least 30 years it's been clear that it's not possible for us to know everything. Every day, doctors have questions they can't find the answers to. Even if you sit down at a search engine, it's so labor intensive and it takes so long to find answers."

Watson could help solve this problem of doctors not having enough information at their fingertips.
