Hostess Brands Inc., maker of all the best snacks, most memorably Twinkies, is shutting its plants down and looking to sell off its assets.

The company has been in business for over 80 years but they just couldn't withstand a national strike organized by its second largest union.

The strike was launched to protest a new labor contract and it affected almost two-thirds of Hostess's 36 nationwide plants.

Hostess's CEO said:

Fans Cheer As Real Refs Return To The NFL!

Sure took them long enough!

No, not the refs, the NFL higher ups! Mainly commissioner Roger Goodell. The lockout is finally over!

At the game between the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens, during the pre-game coin toss, the ref turned on his mic, and greeted both team captains, saying:

"Good evening, men. It's good to be back."

The stadium then erupted into loud cheering!

The real refs are back and everyone is excited to finally get back to real, FAIR football!

Woo hoo, real refs!

FCC Won't Fine NBC For Airing 'Bullsh-t' Chant Unedited

As we previously mentioned, the Baltimore Raven's coach John Harbaugh was signaling for a ref to come talk to him and he had stepped out onto the field.

That was a big mistake. It was unsportsmanlike conduct and he was penalized for harassing the ref.

He claimed he was just trying to ask the ref for a timeout, and the fans all believed him. Or they didn't. It didn't matter. The ref penalized their coach, so they did all they could do…

They let their opinions be heard by chanting "bullsh-t!"

Football announcer Al Michaels said it was the

Ravens Fans Chant "Bullsh-t" After Awful Ref Call

Wow, those are some angry fans.

In this clip (above), the Baltimore Raven's coach John Harbaugh was signaling for the ref to come over and talk to him.

He had stepped onto the field, and, well, that's not cool - especially because the current refs are just scabs, filling in for the real refs who are locked out.

The NFL wants to keep coaches from taking advantage of these inexperienced refs (mainly because they're awful as referees) so they hit the coach with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The fans, naturally, showed their displeasure with a rousing chant of "bullsh-t" that aired live on TV!

Check out the video (above) to see how coach Harbaugh tries to play off his misconduct and hear the fans react. Yikes!!

Thousands Of Nurses In California Might Strike

Nurse Strike

Thousands of nurses in northern and central California might strike over benefit cuts and other reasons that Kaiser Permanente is looking to enact.

We have this to say: What about the patients?

Yeah, we understand that nurses work extremely hard and should be paid and benefitted accordingly, they're some of the hardest working people out there, but striking while there are sick and ailing people who need their help seems kinda wrong. There has got to be other avenues.

At least the hospitals are finding that they're able to find replacements if this happens:

The California Nurses Association — the union organizing the strike — estimates that nearly 23,000 nurses will walk off the job at 7 a.m. at 33 not-for-profit hospitals run by Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health, and at the independent Children's Hospital Oakland. The hospitals include Kaiser facilities in Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose, and the Berkeley and Oakland campuses of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center — a Sutter Health-affiliated hospital.

Sutter Health and Children's Hospital are prepared to bring in replacement nurses, according to officials at each of the hospital groups. Kaiser Permanente says it, too, has made preparations.

We're really torn by this. We see the need to take the stand, but we honestly can not get the idea of disrupting a patient's care because of this. It seems so wrong to us, because they're the ones with the most to lose (their lives) and they aren't even a direct part of the argument!

What do U guys think?
