50 Cent Sues Ex Daphne Joy For Defamation Over Shocking SA & Abuse Accusations

Looks like 50 Cent and Daphne Joy are headed down a long road towards a courtroom showdown.

On Tuesday, the rapper filed a lawsuit against his ex, with whom he co-parents their 12-year-old son Sire Jackson. According to Us Weekly, which first obtained the lawsuit, 50 Cent — whose real name is Curtis Jackson — is suing the 37-year-old woman for “falsely and publicly” accusing him of “rape and physical abuse” which she says allegedly occurred during their relationship together from 2011 to 2013.

As you may recall, the Instagram influencer — whose real name is Daphne Joy Nevarez — accused the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ rapper of sexual assault and domestic abuse back in March in a jaw-dropping IG post. The shocking allegations brought forth a flurry of social media interaction between the two of them, which all occurred after Daphne’s name popped up in the Diddy mess. And now, 50 Cent wants what he feels is justice over the allegedly false claims.

In these new court documents, per Us Weekly, 50 Cent’s legal team notes:

“[Daphne Joy] made a purposeful attempt to, on information and belief, destroy his personal and business reputation, harm Jackson’s commercial and business interests, negatively affect his custody case, and prevent him from seeing his minor son.”

The rapper has previously released statements slamming Daphne Joy’s sexual assault and abuse claims as “false and baseless accusations.” And now in the new suit, he added that he has been “subjected to extensive public ridicule, hatred, and contempt” after having to deal with Joy’s public allegations.

He wants to get paid for his trouble, too. 50 Cent is seeking to “vindicate his rights and protect his reputation” after what he called Joy’s “calculated attack” on Instagram. To do that, he wants punitive and exemplary damages due to the “severe harm” Joy caused him with what he terms to be “false and defamatory statements.” Specifically, the In Da Club rapper claims Daphne’s supposedly defamatory statements poisoned his reputation with the public:

“The Defamatory Post contains false and malicious statements of fact that expose Jackson to hatred, contempt, or aversion, or induce an evil or unsavory opinion of Jackson, in the minds of the public.”

And it very clearly sounds like 50 wants to go to trial, too. Per the mag, the docs chillingly note:

“Jackson has suffered, and will continue to suffer, substantial damages, to which he is entitled to recover in an amount to be determined at trial.”
