Wait. We can’t understand WHY this child was even given a gun in the first place???
A man is dead now after a 9-year-old girl lost control of an uzi she was firing at a Las Vegas-area shooting range. Her instructor, 39-year-old Charles Vacca died at a nearby hospital after being shot in the head.
Police have released the video (above) that shows what happened in the moments leading up to this tragic accident. Don’t worry, the footage is not graphic and cuts out before the fatal shot.
It is believed that this pint-sized shooter was a tourist and was visiting from the Northeast. Bullets and Burgers (the range where this occurred) allows kids 8-17 to operate weaponry so long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Probably not a great idea now that you think about it, right?
Sam Scarmardo, who runs the shooting range, is somehow dumbfounded by how this could have happened.
He said afterwards:
“We really don├óΓé¼Γäót know what happened. Our guys are trained to basically hover over people when they├óΓé¼Γäóre shooting. If they├óΓé¼Γäóre shooting right-handed, we have our right-hand behind them ready to push the weapon out of the way. And if they├óΓé¼Γäóre left-handed, the same thing.├óΓé¼┬¥
Vacca was married and a veteran. Sources say he was well-liked in the community.
Our sympathies go out to his family as well as the little girl who is no doubt shaken up by all of this, and who has to now live her life with what has happened — all because her parents thought it was a good idea.
