Warhol Portrait Of Elizabeth Taylor Auctioned For Almost $27 Million!

Not quite what they anticipated, but still a success, we’d say!

We reported after the death of Elizabeth Taylor that an Andy Warhol painting done of the icon, titled Liz #5, was to be auctioned off via Phillips de Pury & Company and estimated to sell for around $30 million!

Well, they weren’t too far off, because at last night’s event, it brought in an impressive $27 million!

Wonderful!

We hope wherever it ends up, her memory is honored and the work is well-maintained!
