Two weeks of “vacation,” and David Letterman is back to hosting The Late Show!
The comedian and crew took a hiatus because death threats targeting him were found on a jihadist website.
Umar al Basrawi/Al-Basrawi, an islamic extremist, wanted Letterman’s “tongue cut” because of a joke involving Osama bin Laden and Ilyas Kashmiri:
Though Kashmiri was rumored to be a long-shot choice to succeed Osama bin Laden, he wouldn’t have worked out even had he lived, Letterman cracked, pointing to Kashmiri’s “rocky start” as a front-runner: “He botched up the story of Paul Revere.
The real punchline of the joke was Sarah Palin, but clearly context clues weren’t being taken into consideration.
As we told you before, the extremist’s hate for Letterman was only fueled more by his misguided belief that Letterman was Jewish.
Since finding the death threats, the FBI has been in deep investigations and the show feels safe enough to go back on the air.
So how was it at the Ed Sullivan Theatre before the talk show’s taping?
Other than a bomb-sniffing dog, it was “business as usual.”
Most of the audience-goers in line didn’t even know about the security issue.
One crowd member, 25-year-old Kendall Phillips from Houston, said she wasn’t scared at all”
I’m not worried. They’ve got metal detectors. Plus, it’s like really hard to get tickets.
LOL at that last part! Ahh, we love America. Really, we do.
Hopefully this will be the last of this mess we hear about. Extremists are more annoying than Michael Lohan after LiLo‘s court hearings.
