Should we give people a second to realize that we’re not kidding about the SPOILER ALERT we wrote in the title? Because we don’t want to hear how we ruined a major plot point for people in the comments when we are clearly giving you fair warning.

Someone, sometime very soon, is going to bite the big one on The Vampire Diaries. No, we don’t think this person is going to become a vampire, just straight up die.
As we know, the life expectancy of a recurring character on VD is like one episode, but this death is said to be shocking — and male! So, that cancels out Elena/Katherine, Bonnie, Caroline, Rebecca and the doctor chick. We can also probably rule out Damon and Stefan, since there’s essentially no show without them.
So, could Jeremy be taking a more permanent leave of absence? Will Alaric lose his safety ring and end up dead? Or maybe poor Matt mortality and non-supernatural ability is finally going to catch up to him?
Who do U think will be dust this season? It really could be anybody. No one has ever been safe in Mystic Falls! Hell, Elena has lost five different parental figures! (So maybe it will be Alaric….)
