He’s calling take backsies!!
When Harvey Weinstein refused to appear in Alec’s Cannes documentary last week, the star of 30 Rock became vocally irate at the Calvin Klein party they were both attending!
After Alec sobered up, he probably realized it wasn’t a great idea to publicly humiliate one of the few industry titans who could squash his career like an overripe tomato.
Thursday, Alec stepped down as auction leader of a Weinstein hosted benefit for AIDS research so as not distract from the charitable cause.
He attended as a guest and later sent this note to Harvey:
“HW, my apology to you and congratulations on a successful event.”
That was apparently enough to placate the media mogul, who later offered this statement:
├óΓé¼┼ôAlec couldn├óΓé¼Γäót have been more gracious… We all lose our tempers sometime; trust me I have, too. We all appreciated his generosity to everyone at amfAR.├óΓé¼┬¥
We’re just glad Harvey didn’t lose his temper too and bury Alec’s career body in the Nevada desert.
Sounds like water under the bridge! Yay!
