We have MORE proof that Katie Holmes had been planing her escape from Tom Cruise for well over a year!
We’ve heard that the secret agent actress had already settled into her new apartment, changed her phone number and hired a new Cruise-free staff by the time the divorce papers were filed!
Obvi, that shiz doesn’t happen over night — but it may have taken longer than we previously thought!
New reports suggest Katie started scheming her split back when she started hanging out in NYC.. TWO years ago! Our source says:
“She spent part of every month for the last two years in New York, possibly as a precursor to filing for divorce in that state, where residency is required.”
It’s clear Katie filed in NYC because, unlike Cali, the state of New York can look into the issues causing a need to file for divorce and use those in judgement.
If she decided to do her paperwork on the East coast over a year ago, AND was able to hide it all from Tom, we are srsly impressed!
