Even Stephenie Meyer Thinks It's Weird That People Are Naming Their Kids Renesmee

naming your kid Renesmee
Hey Twihard parents! Stephenie Meyer is disturbed by you!
The Twilight author is totally weirded out that the name she gave Bella and Edwards’ little hybrid has become a baby name trend.
Possibly because human parents can’t attack and kill everyone for making fun of their kid’s ridiculous name!
In an interview with EW Stephenie explains her strong opinion on the subject:

“I am someone who strongly believes in reality, and that you don’t monkey around with people’s names. Whether they become a stripper or a lawyer has a large part to do with the name you give them. I would never name a real child Renesmee. But in fantasy, you can name your characters anything you want. I couldn’t have named [Bella and Edward’s] child Lindsay. I couldn’t have named her anything that already exists-it would have felt wrong. I had to pick a name that I felt was completely and totally unique, which opens you up to heckling. Which I’ve taken. I take all my heckling, and I totally get it!”

AND she totally understands if you wanted to ridicule a real life child with that name!
Her response to the fact that non-emortal people have are naming their baby girls after Bella and Edward’s little vamp:

“That really disturbs me.”

There you have it!
Sorry Twis, the woman who invented the name says you’re not allowed to use it.
But look on the bright side — you can still name your kid Katniss if you want! LOLz!
