Did you ever think that your dog’s waste could be used for something?? We sure didn’t!
However, thanks to artist Matthew Mazzotta who launched the Park Spark Project, a dog park in Cambridge, MA has created an on-site methane digester.
A what, you ask? Well, the idea is simple and of course eco-friendly.
People put the dog poo into an air-tight container and as long as they turn the crank to stir up the mixture (try not to think about that part…yuck) it produces methane which is a natural gas that is often used in our homes.
This methane created is then used in the street lamps in the park that will burn as long as people continue to put their doggie doo into the methane digester!
