73-year-old Edwin Fry tried to break his dog, Buddy Tough, out of the pound.
Buddy was put in the pound after Fry did not pay the $100 fine for not having his pooch on a leash.
Authorities say that Fry drove his lawnmower to the pound and tried to break open the cage Buddy Tough was being kept in with bolt cutters but was intercepted by the police.
Apparently there have been many complaints about Buddy Tough who had been in the pound before.
After this ridiculous incident Fry was put in jail for several days, during which Buddy Tough was euthanized in the pound.
This is a horrible story.
Of course Fry should have paid the fine, but there is no reason for the pound to kill Buddy Tough while Fry was being held by the authorities. He clearly loved his dog very much and wanted him back.
