The circus may seem like a fun thing to go see, but the poor animals that are involved are very often mistreated.
Animal Defenders International (ADI) has been providing documentation to officials for the past 15 years to show the harm that is done to animals in the circus.
ADI has undercover footage of the animals being beaten. They wanted to ban the use of wild animals in circuses. However, even after seeing the torture, the government has decided to allow circuses to regulate themselves!
In May of 2010 a government survey asked the public what they thought about banning animals from all British circuses. A whopping 94.5% of the public were in favor of the ban!
That should say something!!!
The video above was the undercover footage of animals being tortured in circuses that was released by ADI. It is so terrible and sad.
