Hooray!
The countries national broadcasting network, RTVE, announced it will no longer broadcast bull fighting shows in order to protect young children from viewing violence.
The broadcaster believes:
“Children can view violence exerted over animals with anxiety and we must therefore avoid it by all means.”
RTVE has not broadcast bullfighting in any of its programs for months, citing low audience ratings and budget problems over expensive outdoor locations shooting, but now has confirmed under a chapter called “Violence with animals” in its latest stylebook that it “will not broadcast bullfighting.”
Some Spaniards revere bullfighting as an art form while OTHERS consider it a CRUEL blood sport with no place in modern society.
We’re going to have to side with the latter here because the bullfighters KILL the bull at the end of the show!
Disgusting!
We don’t need to watch an animal die for our entertainment.
