People suck!
About 400 fighting birds were seized and six people were cited after an animal control officer stumbled on a cockfight while looking for a stray dog, San Diego County Sheriff’s officials said Sunday.
“We had an officer in the Rainbow area looking for a stray dog and came across five people fighting two birds.”
“There’s tremendous harm to these animals. These animals when they are fought are sliced to ribbons. They’re not given a humane death at all. When the bird cannot attack anymore, it’s just thrown in a pile to bleed to death.”
It’s really sad what people are capable of doing to harmless animals.
