Don’t feed your pets melons! Don’t eat any either! At least until the CDC gives the all clear.
There has been a recall on Rocky Ford brand cantaloupes due to a Listeria contamination.
Listeria is a bacteria that can cause flu-like symptoms, such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever and muscle aches.
It can lead to loss of balance, seizures or even death. 15 people have already died!
The infection is on the outside of the melon, which means you could easily transmit it to your pets.
All you have to do is handle a contaminated melon then pet your animal buddy.
Make sure to properly dispose of any possibly contaminated cantaloupes by putting them in a sealed container.
Let’s keep our animals safe as well as ourselves, if you don’t have your health then you don’t have much at all.
