WHAT?!
We’ve been SO excited hearing rumors of Jimmy Fallon being bumped up (when Jay Leno is bumped out) and Howard Stern taking his place that something like this didn’t even enter our minds: Howard WANTS THE TONIGHT SHOW!
We all know that Howard was playing us for a fiddle last week when he joked about the rumors and not being able to talk about them legally… and then dropping the bomb that it would pretty much be an insult to him to take over for Jimmy because he already makes 10 times the money!
Well, you could totally chalk what he said this morning up to being more jokes, but there’s a certain something there that rings a little true too! Here’s what he said about taking over The Tonight Show instead:
“I’ve already contacted [Matt Lauer] about how I’m taking over The Tonight Show. This is going to be the greatest Tonight Show ever. The guys are going to love it. Maybe not the women demos…but I’m going to deliver a hundred share of the men [in the ratings]. That’s why Greenblatt said, ‘You’ve got to take over the show.'”
Okay, okay — so maybe none of it is true! LOLz!
We’ve just been throwing fistfuls of pennies into the fountain, wishing it was actually happening! Though, we have to admit that this works out kinda perfectly, because we can do it now instead! Ha!
