Ruh-roh, Mr. Donaghy!!
Remember Orphans? The Broadway revival starring Alec Baldwin and, for a quick second, Shia LaBeouf?
The Tony-nominated play officially TANKED!!
Show-runners originally planned to end the run on June 30th, but poor ticket sales since Shia’s dismissal are forcing them to close the curtains for good in mid-May!
Sadly, we can’t say we didn’t see this coming — the whole production has been a clusterfudge from the start!
First, Shia was awkwardly and publicly fired over creative differences two weeks into rehearsal. Then, a huge(ly lame) Twitter/e-mail feud ensued between he and Alec.
And now they’re throwing the kabosh on the whole thing because they’re unable to put close to enough butts in seats!
Despite Shia’s rave reviews of his opening experience, the aborted revival will most certainly be remembered more for it’s off-stage drama than anything else.
If UR still interested in witnessing this historic collapse, the last show is currently set for May 19.
We’re going out on a limb and guessing tix are still totes available, LOLz!!
