This isn’t the first pipe Rob Ford has been filmed smoking, but it is apparently the last straw.
Once again, a source came to the press selling a video allegedly of the infamous Toronto Mayor smoking crack.
The source, claiming to be Ford’s drug dealer, reportedly demanded a six figure sum for the video. The footage hasn’t gone live anywhere yet, but when a number of websites obtained video stills like the one above, Ford finally gave in and confessed.
Though his wacky, unprofessional behavior has been making the news for over a year, this is the first time Ford seems to be taking it seriously. He said:
“Today, after taking some time to think about my own well-being, how to best serve the people of Toronto and what is in the best interests of my family, I have decided to take a leave from campaigning and from my duties as mayor to seek immediate help.”
Wow! Finally, a real mayoral decision that seems like it’s for the good of the city and not the whims of Rob Ford!
We’ll have to see how the Toronto people react; many still love the irascible Mayor and may actually hate to see him go! We know late night monologue writers will miss him.
But how long will he be gone anyway? Though we haven’t heard officially how long this leave will last, it does seem to be a temporary break; he’s reportedly still planning on running for re-election!
We’re just happy the man is finally seeking treatment for his very dangerous problem.
