PETA Wants Disney To Change The Ending To Their Live-Action Dumbo Remake!

dumbo elephant crying sad ending
When it comes to animals, no matter how good things get, they’re rarely good enough.
And that’s why PETA has felt the need to step in and remind us of the fact that animals often get the short end of the stick, even under the best circumstances.
Just like with Disney’s live-action remake of Dumbo!
Everyone can get excited over the fact that Disney isn’t using real animals in the movie. That’s an amazing, progressive step forward for the film industry.
But that doesn’t change the fact that the Dumbo story ends with him becoming a star attraction at the circus.
While it’s a happy ending, in real life, an elephant ending up at a circus is never happy.
A PETA spokesperson said:

“Walt Disney Pictures has already pledged that its new version of Dumbo will use advanced computer graphics, and not a suffering captive elephant, to portray its title character, and PETA, whose motto says, in part, that ‘animals are not ours to use for entertainment,’ has another suggestion for the film ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ in addition to staying true to Dumbo’s honest depiction of how animals suffer in the circus, why not change the ending so that Dumbo escapes to an elephant sanctuary?”

That sounds like a real, modern happy ending!
We’re not sure how willing Disney would be to budge on changing a classic story’s ending.
But at least PETA is always fighting for animal rights, hopefully they’ll inspire others to do the same.
Save the elephants!
