Ciara finally graced the cover of Essence for the first time, bringing her glowing beauty to the May issue!
The 30-year-old brightened up the front page dressed in a strapless, floral jumpsuit — could she look more like the epitome of spring??

While there’s no peek at the accompanying spread just yet, the interview was a whole other story!
Speaking on her upcoming nuptials to NFL star Russell Wilson, Cici shared:
“Marriage is something I look forward to. I believe in family, and the beauty of two people committing to spend their lives together. We talk about everything. To me, to both of us, that’s the foundation you need for love to flourish and reach its highest place. I want to live with as much lightness as possible, so I can stay focused on my love of God, and being the best mom, and the best person, I can be├óΓé¼┬ª”
In case you don’t remember, the pop singer was once engaged to Future, before giving birth to their son, Future Jr., back in 2014.
Well, in this new issue, the momma of one explained:
“I’d always wanted to have my own family.And my pregnancy was planned when I was at a point in my life when I was finally ready to take on the responsibility.”
But as for her split from the Where Ya At rapper?
“That wasn’t necessarily part of my vision. But the moment I realized I was going to be a single mother, I had to reflect and reorganize my thoughts. I decided to trust that God had a plan for me, and move forward one day at a time.”
Of course, it wasn’t even a year later that Ciara and Russell went public with their relationship, and now, they’re engaged! Reminiscing on telling her friends what kind of man she wanted, she said:
“I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me. I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.”
Guess she does have it all!
Anyway, we can’t wait to see the editorial, and hopefully hear her wedding plans sometime soon, too!
