The 2016 BET Awards got realer than they’ve ever been on Sunday night.
Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams was presented with the Humanitarian Award for his work promoting equality and speaking out against police brutality with the Black Lives Matter movement.
He got the crowd to their feet almost immediately with his strong words but did NOT stop with the mic drop lines like:
“If you have no interest in equal rights for Black people then do not make suggestions to those who do. Sit down.”
and
“Just because we’re magic doesn’t mean we’re not real.”
