If we can have a Terminator Governor and comedian Al Franken can win a Senate seat, surely there is a place for a Baldwin brother in our democratic system, right?
Well, Alec Baldwin seems to think so. After his acting roles dry up, Alec is setting his sights to do some good for his country by running for Congress, although he recognizes that it won’t be an easy run. Especially, when he considers the backlash he’ll get from his beloved stomping ground, SNL.
“I’m often asked if I think about going into politics,” he says. “If I do, these guys will have a field day. I’ve given them so much crap to use against me├óΓé¼┬ª If I run for political office, they’ll have a forest of material to kill me with.”
Yeah they will, and we can’t wait to see that!
But we’ll have a little bit of a wait on this one, as Alec concedes that the timing isn’t quite right yet to run for Congress: “I’ll put it this way. The desire is there; that’s one component. The other component is opportunity.”
We’ll keep praying for that opportunity to present itself!
What do U think? Does Alec have what it takes?
