Aaron Carter Cancels Remaining 2019 Tour Dates After Sharing Mental Health Diagnosis: 'MY HEALTH COMES FIRST'

Aaron Carter cancels rest of 2019 tour.

Aaron Carter is putting his mental health first!

A week after revealing a slew of psychological diagnoses on The Doctors, the I Want Candy singer took to Twitter early Monday to announce he’s canceling his the remainder of his 2019 tour.

The 31-year-old told fans:

“I appreciate the love and efforts from my supporters. But after my next two shows coming up in Kentucky & Missouri & after I fly to Vancouver to do the toy drive which I’m donating 400 toys and over 1k of fan donations I’m canceling the rest of my shows for the remaining year.”

According to his official website, Aaron was set to play seven shows from October through January. But in the wake of his TV appearance, and the very public calling out of his brother, Nick Carter, the former child star apparently needs some time off in order to “heal and recharge [his] batteries.”

He continued:

“I have to put my health first and I hope you can all understand how much I need this time to heal and recharge my batteries. I love you. Stay strong. Stay healthy, and just know I’ll be back next year ready to go. But as a man, this is what I need to do to have some peace. Xo”

Of course, things were not peaceful among Aaron’s army of fans following the announcement. Plenty of admirers begged the star to keep performing — but he made it clear he’s putting his health first, adding:

“No matter what I say I’m not gonna change these people’s opinions. I’m going to conserve my energy and I’m going to focus on the good things that I do and not waste my time on the ones that don’t. MY HEALTH COMES FIRST.”

Smart decision!

The announcement comes a week after Carter opened up about a recent diagnosis and the medley of prescription meds he’s been on. He said on The Doctors:

“The official diagnosis. is that I suffer from multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression.”

As we reported, the singer revealed in a following episode he had a huffing addiction that his sister Leslie Carter, who died of an overdose in 2012, got him into. He confessed:

“I was huffing because I was really f**king stupid. I was huffing because I’m a drug addict. I’m a drug addict. I am a drug addict in recovery.”

The performer’s had a pretty stressful year on top of all this, so focusing on his recovery is probably best for him right now. We’ll see him on the stage next year!
