Alex Rodriguez Wants A Second Chance With Jennifer Lopez! He's Even Been Reaching Out!

Alex Rodriguez is hoping to reignite the flame with an ex! Just not his most recent one!

As Perezcious readers may know, news broke this month that the former professional baseball player broke up with his fitness instructor girlfriend, Jaclyn Cordeiro, after nearly three years together. Sources close to Alex claimed the pair ended things two months ago, and there is no bad blood between them. In fact, Jaclyn confirmed that “there is absolutely no animosity, drama, or negative story here.” She said it all came down to the fact that her focus needs to be on “navigating a serious health matter involving a family member at this time.” How sad!

Alex has not addressed the breakup yet, but he is now back in communication with an ex. It’s not Jaclyn, though. The MLB star apparently reached out to Jennifer Lopez — and he wants a second chance! No joke! That is what sources are saying now!

According to an insider for Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, Alex contacted J.Lo shortly after breaking up with Jaclyn:

“Alex never fully got over Jennifer. The relationship meant everything to him, and once he became single again, reaching out felt inevitable.”

Jennifer and Alex began dating in 2017, and they got engaged two years later. But by 2021, the relationship came to an end after he allegedly cheated on the pop star with Southern Charm star Madison Lecroy. Following the split, Jennifer then moved on with ex Ben Affleck. Ironically, much like Alex now, Ben had never fully moved on from JLo either and had been sending her letters while she was with A-Rod! Bennifer ultimately got married but later divorced in 2024. And now that she’s single, Alex wants to weasel his way back into her life for a J-Rod 2.0. *insert our eye roll here*

Insiders tell Shuter that the athlete knows he messed up but wants a shot to rebuild their romantic connection:

“He’s not pretending the past didn’t happen. But he absolutely misses her presence in his life. There’s still a tremendous amount of affection there.”

Ugh! Jennifer, no! Don’t do it! Don’t make the mistake again! Unless you’re giving us Bennifer 3.0, stop getting back together with your exes! Especially your alleged cheating ex! You deserve better than that!

Those close to Jennifer are suspicious about the timing of Alex reaching out again, especially since she is trying to move on from her heartbreaking breakup with Ben. But insiders stress the two haven’t romantically reconnected, not yet at least:

“Jennifer is in a much more guarded and emotionally centered place these days. She’s open to peace, not chaos. But she hasn’t shut the door completely either.”

Noooo! Slam the door shut, please! For his part, Alex is not wasting the opportunity this time:

“Alex knows he probably won’t get another person like Jennifer. That’s why he reached out.”
