NY Yankees Star Alex Rodriguez Retiring From Baseball To Be A Full-Time Dad!

It’s the end of the A-Rod era as Alex Rodriguez announced his retirement from the MLB on Wednesday.
The New York Yankees third baseman has been playing pro for two decades, much of that dominating the sport, with a career 3,070 hits and 2,055 RBIs.

But 2017, the final year of his $275 million 10-year contract, will also mark his last at bat. He told ESPN:

“I won’t play after next year. I’ve really enjoyed my time. For me, it is time for me to go home and be dad.”

Awww! Lucky kids!
Interesting note for his final season: with 687 career home runs, the 40-year-old needs only 28 to catch Babe Ruth as third all-time home run leader behind only Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds.
Good luck, A-Rod!
