The Clueless actress and super star activist Alicia Silverstone is battling for animal rights once again! Her current target — the cosmetic industry.
Alicia has written a letter to the European Commission asking them to “Uphold the European Union’s 2013 ban on cosmetics tested on animals.”
According to Alicia:
“This ban was put in place to advance and modernize cosmetic testing and keeping it in place is crucial. We need modern cosmetics and chemical test methods that can assess how products will affect the human body. Testing these products on animals is inherently cruel–and it’s not a good predictor of how it will affect humans.”
She says pushing the deadline further would only delay plans to develop nonanimal tests that can better predict how cosmetics affect humans.
