Amanda Bynes is trying to get back on track. Step one? Glow up.
As we’ve been reporting, the 37-year-old actress checked herself out of a mental health facility on Tuesday. The former child star is now back in the Los Angeles area and trying to return to her normal life.
Of course, she had been under doctors’ care for three weeks after having a “psychotic episode” last month. But on Wednesday night, the Easy A alum was seen engaging in an extremely “everyday” activity: getting her nails done.
According to photos first published by DailyMail.com on Thursday, the She’s The Man star was spotted at Cosmo Nails in Toluca Lake, California on Wednesday evening, where she got a manicure from a nail specialist. Then, according to eyewitnesses, she “smoked a cigarette while waiting for an Uber” outside the place after she finished up and paid.
Nothing like a trip to the nail salon! It seems to have been a pretty average, normal visit. But perhaps everyday stuff like that will continue to help ground Amanda amid all the recent turmoil in her life. Here’s hoping!
The news outlet also cited a new source in their Thursday night reporting. This insider spoke about Bynes’ push back to normalcy after her three-week-long psychiatric evaluation. From the sounds of the source, it appears the What A Girl Wants star worked hard to get herself back to a place where she could function in society again:
“Amanda has left the medical facility on her own recognizance. She was very cooperative, participated in her recovery the staff supported her decision to leave as she had successfully completed the treatment program.”
That’s good to hear!
There is at least one area of concern, though. As Perezcious readers may remember, late last month, we reported about how Amanda’s family “instructed” her troubled ex-fiancé Paul Michael to completely stop contacting the star.
This new insider issued a similar take to the news outlet on Thursday night. Per the source, the Sydney White star “has been advised to continue to distance herself from her ex” after her psychiatric hold. The source added:
“Her family and friends believe that their split was a catalyst in her breakdown and that he is not a healthy and safe person for her to be around.”
That very much echoes what we heard late last month. As you may recall, an insider back then said this about Paul’s presence in Amanda’s life:
“He does not seem to have her best interests in mind and her family has nothing good to say about him.”
And now, this new insider added one more difficult detail about where it all went wrong for the ex-couple:
“[The exes] were codependent on each other, and the latter part of their relationship was toxic due, in part, to the fact that they met in rehab. They substituted their addiction to substances for an addiction for each other.”
Things are looking more optimistic for Bynes’ immediate future, though. She is entering an outpatient treatment program, and plans to continue working on herself through that venue while living in her own home.
We sincerely hope this return to some normalcy can usher some consistency and calm into her life. Sending love and light!
