Bethenny Frankel thinks Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s controversial SNL joke was… genius! Huh. She seems to be alone in that…
The controversial Hollywood couple took a major risk attending Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday, and the Deadpool star even took a step further by subtly addressing all their legal drama. ICYMI, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey held a Q&A and asked how Ryan was doing… To which he jokingly responded:
“Great. Why? What have you heard?”

A LOT of viewers — including Justin Baldoni’s lawyer — criticized the couple, saying it was inappropriate. But one person who’s throwing their full support behind them is the former Real Housewives of New York star!
On Monday, Bethenny took to TikTok to admit she thought the bit was “brilliant” — and explained her hot take:
“Absolutely brilliant of SNL to invite and include Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively to lean into the humor. They are the epicenter of pop culture. It is the zeitgeist. Bullseye.”
Well, there’s certainly no denying they’re the talk of the town! So we get why she thinks it’s a shrewd move for SNL. But why is it good for Blake and Ryan? She continued:
“And for Ryan and Blake to participate is nothing short of genius because the only way to weather a storm is to go straight through it. As I keep saying, no one knows what actually happened. So, all of the speculation is tricky and risky business, but that was very smart. Bravo.”
