We previously mentioned that Bob Barker was trying to get the University of Washington to stop using live cats as part of their pediatric training program.
Instead of using live babies, obvi, the university needed a stand-in… so they went with live cats!!
Most schools use mannequins for training, instead of poor, sedated kitties, so Bob tried to get them to switch.
He offered the school $75,000 to change to state-of-the-art simulators, if they’d stop using cats├óΓé¼┬ª
And now they finally have!! We guess the price was right! LOLz!
A PETA rep said:
“PETA is thrilled that [the university] has finally decided to spare cats the pain of enduring crude medical training drills and is joining the hundreds of other facilities across the country that teach people to save babies├óΓé¼Γäó lives by exclusively using sophisticated lifelike simulators.”
It’s way better to use a simulator than a live cat!!
Thank goodness for people like Bob, who care so much when others seem to turn a blind eye!
Way to go, Bob!!
