To those in the inner circle, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk‘s breakup after four years together is apparently “no surprise.”
That’s all according to sources close to the now former couple, which are reporting on Friday morning that life in paradise for the actor and model — and their two-year old daughter, Lea De Seine — wasn’t quite as perfect as it appeared to be.

According to one source who spoke to ET about the couple’s split, which was first revealed on Thursday, things had been going badly for quite a while by the end of the pair’s four-year relationship.
The source revealed (below):
“They haven’t been getting along for quite some time and seemed to be holding on to their relationship for the sake of their daughter. Those closest to them had high hopes that when Bradley completed promoting A Star is Born, they would find time to work out their differences, but things only got worse. Some of their friends feel they never truly got a chance to know each other outside of being a family, and it was just all too much too fast.”
Interesting!
Shayk apparently had “high hopes” about life with Cooper, especially after Lea was born in 2017, but was increasingly rebuffed by his busy film schedule — right up until the point where the 33-year-old model just couldn’t take it any more.

The source adds (below):
“Irina truly had high hopes for their future together and felt once the baby was born they would find the time to marry but that never came to fruition. She wanted more from Bradley in every way. But she was unhappy and felt he spent too much time working. Recently Irina decided enough is enough. She didn’t feel she was getting the level of commitment she wanted and the endless fighting made their life unbearable. They are very different people and once they realized it was the baby that was holding them together, it was time to call it quits.”
And call it quits, she will — Irina isn’t wasting any time moving forward after leaving Bradley, and though it’s not for another man or anything like that, she’s at least content to change her surroundings.
Photogs captured Irina arriving at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, and the 33-year-old model was all smiles while heading in to board a plane (see the pics HERE).
No official word on where she was headed, but she had just one bag in tow, so suffice to say she’ll probably be popping up back in El Lay before too long.
Still, it’s a very public departure for somebody like Shayk who has been notoriously private about her relationship with Cooper in the past.
She rarely spoke about her relationship with the 44-year-old actor, opting instead to keep things close to the vest, as she did in her most recent interview about their relationship, with Glamour back in February.
In that interview, Shayk gives no indication of trouble ahead, instead focusing on not letting out too much info, while telling the mag (below):
“I have a lot of friends who share a lot of their personal life on Instagram or social media, very publicly. I admire it and I think it’s great – but I think it’s all about personal choice. Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That’s why it’s called personal, because it’s something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it.”
Knowing that, then, it wouldn’t surprise us if these two try to keep the breakup fallout as personal and private as possible, too.
Per People, Cooper and Shayk are right now “amicably” working out a custody arrangement for daughter Lea, as well; judging by past precedent here we can expect that very little will be leaked out to the press.
