Carmen Electra Remembers Her Late Friend & Mentor Prince As 'One Of A Kind'

Not many people remember that Carmen Electra was one of Prince‘s first mentees!
In an emotional interview with LaPalme Magazine, Carmen recalled her special friendship, mentorship, and even brief romance with the late singer. It’s about the second time Ms. Electra has provided her thoughts on the singer following his tragic death late last month.

While the beauty’s first sit down about the musician was full of shock and grief, she decided this time around to focus on more happier memories like their first meeting as well as the 57-year-old’s unmatched generosity.
According to the model, the pair’s first encounter was actually pretty “awkward” due to her shyness and Prince’s quite nature. Let’s just say the meeting wasn’t electric!
The 44-year-old remembered:

“That first time I met Prince, he was very quiet. I was very shy, so there was this awkward moment of us just kind of standing in front of each other. He broke the ice by asking me if I wanted to play pool, and I was so horrible that he just kept laughing at me.”

Ha! That definitely sounds like the creative — it seems like he always made friends wherever he went!
In another typical Prince move, he decided to change the actress’s birth name from Tara Leigh Patrick to Carmen just because he felt like it suited her better. It was the Minnesotan’s first step in helping Electra transform from a nobody to a somebody.
The Ohio native revealed:

“I reminded him that my name was Tara. He told me, ‘You look like a Carmen, so to me, you’re Carmen. He was so mysterious, but one of the wittiest people I’ve ever met. He was simply one of a kind.”

“Mysterious” indeed! Even the singer’s untimely death is mysterious!
The gorgeous gal went on to add:

“As an artist and as a person, Prince was so extraordinarily generous. It was very generous for him to give me a chance to start a music career, and I’ll always be grateful that he believed in me and took a chance on me. We’re all devastated, and it didn’t seem like it was his right time to go.”

Very well put, Carmen. We think a lot of fans would agree that the music guru left this world too soon.
In another touching tribute, C.E. shared this post about her dear friend just two days ago:

Aww. It’s clear Ms. Electra is still very heartbroken over his passing.
Stay strong, girl! At least you have great memories to ease the pain.
