It’s so incredible to see how he was able to really channel all of that pain in confusion as a teenager into so many creative outlets!
But that’s what makes Chris Colfer such an inspiration!
The Glee actor recently opened up about his difficult teenage years being bullied in High School for his sexual preference, and how his writing – which he originally used as a means to work out his problems – has ultimately catapulted him into one of the most successful young people in Hollywood!
He explains:

“I was harassed at school every day, called ├óΓé¼╦£faggot├óΓé¼Γäó, I had things taped to my back. For most of my adolescence I was in my bedroom writing or watching things I shouldn├óΓé¼Γäót be watching on TV, like Nip/Tuck. And I was obsessed with superheroes. I had this thing where I wanted to be rescued. The other kids wanted to be Superman, but I thought Lois Lane kind of had the best deal. I’ve written another movie, this time definitely R-rated about a 1930s asylum. Oh, and my agent asked me to adapt this children’s book into a feature for Disney. I wrote that one in a weekend. Yeah – a 90-page screenplay in two days. It was insane.”

Well, look how it worked out, Chris!
You didn’t need to be a rescued!
You were your own superhero, and now, you’re a superhero to so many young people struggling with similar issues!
Keep on writing!
We can’t WAIT to see what other creative ventures in which you partake!
