Katy Perry’s 2026 Met Gala look is raising eyebrows as her drama with Ruby Rose blazes forward.
The Firework singer has been under a microscope ever since Ruby made disturbing sexual misconduct allegations against her several weeks ago. Katy categorically denies any wrongdoing and has kept up a social media presence through it all, despite harsh backlash and condemnation from some online critics. It’s clear she’s trying to not let the situation drag her down, and proved that on Monday when she took her controversial self to the Met Gala… but notably hid her face! See (below):
Interesting choice… Was this her attempt to sneak into the ritzy event without making a ton of noise? Was she trying to avoid getting asked about the troubling situation involving Ruby? Was she trying to make a joke? Or a larger statement? She noticeably skipped red carpet interviews. But if subtlety was the goal, we fear she missed the mark… Because Christina Ricci just clocked her!

According to a press release, Katy’s reflective mask was “designed to be a literal and symbolic reflection that invites the observer to consider that their perception of others can mirror their own internal world, and conversely mask truth.” She paired the look with a Magician tarot card, a six-fingered glove meant to address AI photos of her, and eventually did open the mask on the carpet revealing her face.
