Real life Cruella de Vil lives in New York

Meet Clair Watson, the real life Cruella de Vil of New York – and if she doesn’t scare you, no evil thing will.

The blue-eyed and blond haired Brit is New York City’s top dealer of garments made from various endangered animals skin.

The state’s Department of Environmental Conservation, which monitors the trade, lists 15 articles of clothing made prior to the federal Endangered Species Act of 1973 under Watson’s name, which is the most under any broker in the state.

Prices for the fur fashionistas articles of dead animal clothing are not listed, but a buyer admitted she paid $3,000 for a 1950s jaguar coat, hat and belt that Watson auctioned off in 2004.

We’re sure she’s not as evil as her fictional counterpart, but we still can’t condone her work.

PETA on the other hand doesn’t seem to think she is that far off from the animated villain, with a rep saying:

“Clair sounds like a sadistic safari guide to people who might have money but are morally bankrupt.”

We have to agree that even if the animals were killed 50 years ago, her products are still supporting fashion that continues to kill innocent animals every year.

Sad.
