Hear that? That’s the sound of Bughead fans across the globe weeping in despair.
They’re weeping because Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart have reportedly split after nearly two years of dating.
Multiple sources confirmed the breakup news to Us Weekly, which reported the Riverdale costars were spotted keeping their distance from each other at the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con party in San Diego on Saturday.
While the two actors were seen mingling with the rest of their castmates at different times, the pair were rarely seen together, according to the outlet.

Meanwhile, a separate source revealed to E! News:
“Lili and Cole broke-up earlier this summer. The two are not living together this season.”
Sprouse and Reinhart — who play beloved onscreen couple Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper on the popular teen drama — were first linked in July 2017 after they were spotted locking lips at Comic-Con.
But now Comic-Con has since turned to Drama-Con, as Sprouse was apparently overheard telling a friend at the event that he and the 22-year-old actress were officially over. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody alum was then said to have left the party with costars KJ Apa and Camila Mendes, sans Reinhart.
Fortunately, the actors aren’t letting their apparent split get in the way of their work. Cole and Lili appeared to be amiable as they sat next to each other during The CW series’ panel in Hall H on Sunday.
The Hustlers actress even poked fun at her ex and Apa goofing off during the panel in an Instagram pic, which she captioned:
“Please don’t put me between these two ever again.”
LOLz! At least she can still make a friendly jab!

The couple seemingly confirmed their real-life romance in April 2018 when they were spotted kissing in Paris, then went on to make their red carpet debut together at the Met Gala in New York City a month later.
After their romance went public, the actors were shy about gushing over one another in interviews and on social media.

The 26-year-old Disney alum opened up about their relationship earlier this year, going as far to reveal the extra dates he’s surprised her with.
He told Glamour magazine back in March:
“I really like the road trip date. I took my girlfriend on a date where we drove to this location deep into Canada, and I surprised her with a big hot-air balloon adventure, which was quite a bit of fun. I like traveling quite a bit. I like road-tripping. Those grand experiences always end up yielding the greatest memories — and the greatest romances.”
Sigh…
At least they’ll still have those great memories, and we’ll still have Bughead.
