Oof, it does not sound like Ariana Grande’s estranged husband is handling the breakup well.
Last week, news broke that the Thank U, Next singer and her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez, had been separated since January, officially “heading towards divorce.” Apparently there was trouble in paradise for a little while before their split, as the 30-year-old songstress relocated to London in December to film next year’s Wicked, but as TMZ reported last week, they were “having problems even before that.” As we know, Dalton flew across the pond in January in a last-ditch effort to try and reconcile their damaged relationship, but unfortunately, it “didn’t work out” and the estranged couple reportedly “came to the decision together” to call it quits.

But it now sounds like the real estate mogul isn’t wanting to accept the harsh reality that he and his pop star wife are dunzo. An insider told Entertainment Tonight Monday:
“Dalton is having a hard time after his breakup with Ariana. It has been a difficult time for him because he wanted to make things work. He still has a lot of love for her and still considers her his partner, but she has moved on. Dalton’s friends are encouraging him to do the same.”
Damn! He still considers her his partner??
So what about those reports that he “has been dating over the last few months” ?? Guess no one is living up to the R.E.M. Beauty founder…
As we all know, Ariana has definitely moved on — in the most eyebrow-raising way possible — with Broadway actor Ethan Slater, who apparently “blindsided” his own partner with his new budding romance. An insider told People Friday that Ethan’s estranged wife Lilly Jay, who he welcomed son Ezra with just last year, is “a wreck” following the news:
“It’s horrible. They were high school sweethearts. They have a baby! She’s a wreck.”
Ugh, we feel for both her AND Dalton honestly! But we already knew the latter was having a difficult time, as a separate source told Us Weekly last week:
“Dalton has been devastated by it. A separation is not what he’s wanted. He wanted the fairy tale, happy ending, and it’s not looking that way.”

Another insider dished:
“Dalton is really hoping to make things work with Ariana. Despite the rocky patches they’ve been through, he isn’t ready to give up on their marriage. He saw himself spending the rest of his life with Ariana and will do anything to get past this.”
Well, there certainly ain’t no fairy tale ending here. At this point, Dalton should take his friends’ advice and just try to move forward…
