SNL alum Dana Carvey may get to use his Regis Philbin impersonation full time!
Finding a replacement for Regis has been a trying task. A few names, including Ryan Seacrest, Andy Cohen and Kelly Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, have been slowly bumped of the list of contenders.
However, a source at Live! with Regis and Kelly says producers have had Carvey on their minds since the beginning of their search — and it’s starting to grow on them.
On the record producers say ├óΓé¼┼ôThere├óΓé¼Γäós no short list or front-runner.├óΓé¼┬¥ We get it, they can’t or don’t want to give anything away. But our source says the backstage buzz has Carvey as a top contender.
We think Carvey would be work GREAT for the show! He was totally radical co host on Wayne’s World with Mike Myers, AND he was an incredible solo host on the classic SNL Church Lady sketch!
Sure, he might not be young or edgy as his other contenders — but compared to Regis Dana is practically a Kardashian!
