Yes, we could have lived in a world where Dax Shepard and Anna Faris dated.
The Chips actor revealed he once almost asked the Overboard star out on a date back in 2005, but backed out because he got the sense she wasn’t available.

She wasn’t, as the actress was married at the time to her first husband Ben Indra. But wow, what could have been!
Shepard made the confession on Faris’ Unqualified podcast, admitting he was crushing hard on the Just Friends actress when the two sat next to each other during a premiere. He recalled:
“I saw Just Friends and was like, ├óΓé¼╦£You are so talented’ and you and I sat next to each other during a premiere├óΓé¼┬ª [I thought] ├óΓé¼╦£I would definitely like to take this person on a date.’ Then from my point of view, that door was shut. It was like a dead-bolt door.”
Faris laughed, revealing the reason why her admirer may have felt that way:
“I think my first husband may have been sitting to the right of me.”
Shepard quipped:
“That would explain a lot.”
As we know, the timing just didn’t work out for the two. Faris ended her marriage in 2008 and went on to marry Chris Pratt a year later. The twosome announced they were ending their eight year marriage in August 2017.
Shepard, of course, went on to marry Kristen Bell. The pair have two daughters together and are the most beloved celebrity couple in the game — so DON’T GET ANY IDEAS, FARIS.
